AI Phone - Head of Android / AOSP

Our mission is to build proactive applications and devices that bring intelligence into daily conversations, coordination and workflows, with minimal prompting.</p><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px"> </div><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Focus:</strong> Android OS, custom ROM, system architecture and hardware integration.</p><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px"> </div><h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Own the overall Android platform architecture and AOSP-based ROM development.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Define how AI capabilities should be integrated at the OS level.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Design system services and privileged APIs that allow AI agents to interact with the OS and applications.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Define system-level permission and security architecture.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Evaluate Android platform limitations and identify what needs to be modified or extended.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Work with hardware vendors / ODMs on device integration.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Lead Android platform engineering and establish technical standards.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Evaluate technical feasibility and trade-offs for the first phone.</p></li></ul><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px"> </div><h2><strong>Requirements</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Deep understanding of Android Framework, System Services and Android internals.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with Binder IPC, Android permissions, SELinux and system processes.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong Java / Kotlin and C++ knowledge.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience building or modifying Android ROMs.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience shipping Android platform-level features, not just Android applications.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong system architecture and technical leadership experience.</p></li></ul><div style="min-height:1.2em;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px"> </div><h2><strong>Nice to have</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience from Google Android / Pixel, Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO or similar Android platform teams.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with custom ROM development.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em"&g
