Today, Joko is an AI shopping app: with Juno, our shopping assistant, users can find the right product at the best price in only a few seconds, with recommendations that get sharper the more they use it.<br /><br />Having reached profitability in our core market, we’re now scaling globally, with a strong focus on the US. <br /><br /><strong>It’s still day 1, come build the future of shopping with us!</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><em>This position is remote-friendly.</em></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2><strong>⚖️ Our Legal team</strong></h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">The Legal team is at the heart of Joko’s growth and protection. We navigate the complexities of contracts, regulations, and risk management to ensure the company operates smoothly and seizes opportunities with confidence.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">We handle all legal matters: Contracts, Corporate, Labor, Data protection, IP etc… enabling other teams to innovate with confidence.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">Leveraging our expertise and external partners, we collaborate with all functions to protect Joko’s interests efficiently and proactively.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2>🚀 What you will do</h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">As Legal Counsel, Product & Privacy, you will work hand in hand with our Product, Tech and business teams to make sure our product, including Juno, complies with privacy, AI, consumer and platform rules, from the PRD to the launch. You will report directly to the Head of Legal (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/maya-steite-masri/">Maya</a>).</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h3>🔐 Privacy and AI</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Run our GDPR programme on a centralised, cross-European basis, working closely with our DPO: records of processing, DPIAs, privacy notices, data subject requests, processor agreements and transfers.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ensure compliance with non EU privacy laws as the teams grow our international activity.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Champion privacy by design within the product teams: show up early, ask the right questions, and help find solutions that work for users and the business.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Act as product counsel on Juno alongside the Product team: AI Act compliance, transparency obligations, and model and vendor terms.</p></li></ul><h3>🛍️ Consumer and platform rules</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Maintain our terms of use and terms of sale with the teams who design our offers, including the cashback and gift card terms, withdrawal rights, the referral programme, and the rules of our prize draws and contests.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Keep Joko compliant with the expectations of the DGCCRF and its equivalents in
