<div><span style="font-size: 16px;">The Foundations group is focused on delivering core platform software products. Starting from gateways, through merchant onboarding and offboarding reaching the billing systems and debtor management solutions of Unzer.</span></div><br><strong>What your work will look like: </strong><br><div>- Design, build, test, and operate cloud-based microservices (Java/Spring Boot, Kafka)<br>- Write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) as an integral part of your daily work<br>- Contribute to product design by writing technical specifications – clear enough to<br> guide both engineers and AI agents<br>- Use AI-assisted development (coding agents, AI code review, spec-driven workflows)<br> in your daily work and help us evolve how we use it<br>- Work with the Unzer Tech standards and processes and help us improve them<br>- Be actively involved in team and organizational knowledge-sharing</div><br><strong>What you need to be successful in this role: </strong><br><div>- 5+ years of experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot<br>- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems and distributed systems<br>- Experience with SQL databases (schema design, migrations); NoSQL is a plus<br>- Experience with microservices, event-driven messaging (Kafka, Avro) and<br> Git-based workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code review)<br>- You diligently test (ideally test-first/TDD) and document your deliveries<br>- Experience in architecture design (e.g. Domain-Driven Design) and common design patterns<br>- Experience with observability tools such as Coralogix or OpenTelemetry<br>- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants/agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot):<br> you use them productively and critically review, test and own the code they produce<br>- Hands-on mentality<br> <br>Nice to have:<br>- Frontend experie
