Winter Data Internship

<p style="min-height:1.5em">Sheffield or London | 2 days per week in the office, 3 days working remotely</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">8-week placement (November - January with break for Christmas)</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>On a day-to-day basis, you will:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Work on well-scoped analysis and data tasks, with guidance and peer review from the team.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Use SQL to explore data, answer questions and build simple, reusable datasets.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Help create or improve dashboards that allow teams to monitor key metrics and performance.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Check data quality, investigate unexpected results and clearly document your assumptions.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Speak with stakeholders to understand their questions and help translate them into structured analysis.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Use appropriate charts and written summaries to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Contribute to an individual or team project that demonstrates what you have learned and creates value for the business.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Take part in team ceremonies, knowledge-sharing sessions and regular one-to-one coaching.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Use AI tools thoughtfully to support tasks such as learning, exploring approaches, drafting code or documentation, while checking outputs and protecting confidential data.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>We would like you to be:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Interested in data analysis and in using data to understand and solve real business problems.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Comfortable working with numbers and able to break a question into logical steps.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiar with SQL, spreadsheets, Python or another analytical tool through study, work experience or personal projects.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Able to explain your thinking and communicate clearly with people who may not have a technical background.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Curious about how businesses work, willing to ask questions and keen to investigate why something has happened.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Careful with detail, particularly when checking data and deciding whether a result can be trusted.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Open to feedback, collaboration and learning new tools and ways of working.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiar with AI tools and able to use them responsibly to support your work, rather than accepting their output without question.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>It would also be useful if you have:<
